45/365:2013 ATC happy Valentine's Day

45-365 ATC 2013 happy Valentine's Day
According to Legend from the 5th or 6th century, Saint Valentine was persecuted as a Christian and interrogated by Roman Emperor Claudius II. Claudius was impressed by Valentine and had a discussion with him, attempting to get him to convert to Roman paganism in order to save his life. Valentine refused and tried to convert Claudius to Christianity instead. Because of this, he was executed. St.Valentine is said to have performed clandestine Christian weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry. The Roman Emperor Claudius II supposedly forbade this in order to grow his army, believing that married men did not make for good soldiers.

In Norway, the day is not yet an established tradition. In recent years, commercial operators, retailers and postal service has invested millions to promote the day and make it important in Norway.

Reserved for Cecilie

Played with a resist technique, but the pen did not resist the watercolour. The pen faded in with the watercolour. Creating a a soft and shy look.

34/365:2013 ATC pearl necklaces

34-365 ATC 2013 pearl necklaces
Jewellery is a form of personal adornment, such as brooches, rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets. With some exceptions, medical alert bracelets/military tag, jewellery stands out from other items of personal adornment in that it has no other purpose than to look appealing. Humans have been producing and wearing it for a long time. The oldest known jewellery is 100,000 year old beads made from Nassarius shells.

Although I love jewellery and preferably unique custom made ones, I do not make jewellery myself. Have a whole box, 16 liters, with beads and ephemera but have not the fascination or patience to create jewellery.

29/365:2013 ATC true colours

29-365 ATC 2013 true colours
Sometimes I wonder what really is the people's hair colour. I have had black, purple and green. But my actually hair colour is copper, also known as red. As I get older, I see that the colour loses its lustre. Maybe I get brown hair, before it turns white. Who knows.

12/365:2013 ATC green eyes

12-365 ATC 2013 green eyes
Did you know that eye colour among Norwegians are usually blue, gray-blue, or green(90%), brown and brownish-green eyes are also present, although in the minority(10%).

The fun thing with Artist Trading Cards is that you can play around with new techniques or re-discover old ones. On this card I played with pencil transfer, so much fun.
